Southern California Junior Bach Festival

The 2022-2023 Southern California Junior Bach Festival will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the Choral Room at Cal Baptist University.

Registration application postmark deadline is February 3, 2023. Additional instructions in future branch newsletters and online at scjbf.org.

Once the program has been set up, a copy will be mailed or e-mailed for any corrections. Changes may be made until February 3, 2023. The teacher of the student wanting the change needs to find someone that is willing to switch. Once the program has gone to the printer, no further changes will be allowed.

Repertoire: Music by any Baroque composer may be performed. However, to be considered for the Regional Festival, only Bach music may be played. Excluded from the Regional Festival is music from AMB Notebook 113-132, transcriptions other than those made by J.S. Bach himself from his own works and works from other Baroque composers.

Music: Students are to bring their music to their recital. Please make sure the student’s name is on the music. The music will be collected before each recital for the judges. Remind students to pick up their music at the Judges’ table on their way out.

Fees: $25 – for Anna Magdalena
$30 – All others

Payments will be made online this year. More information will be given in the newsletter as the date draws closer. All questions should be directed to the chairperson, Elvin Rodriguez or the associate chairperson, D’Laney Jevas.

Regional Festival: Please impress upon your students the fact that only 50% of those entered will be chosen to go on to the Regional Festival. The Regional Festival will be held on May 7, 2023 at Cal Baptist University.

Regional fee will be $45.
